Day 93 — Meet Maurizio Pollini and Olga
03-November-1971 (Wed.)

Another day. Some good, some not so good parts. However, it ended perfectly. Went to a recital—Mario [Maurizio] Pollini, pianist (very famous, and now I know why). Chopin
Etudes—fantastic. Really super-fantastic concert (with a whole mess of encores). Almost as good as the Tuckwell concert.

1971 Maurizio Pollini. Another spectacular concert in Vienna. Italian concert pianist. Maurizio (or Mario) Pollini, an internationally-renowned concert pianist played Chopin. As I have said before, the combination of seeing and hearing a world-class performer in combination with the excitement of a Viennese audience is amazing.

Wikipedia says it all.
Pollini is “regarded as one of the greatest living pianists.” Check out some of his recordings on iTunes.

2007 Olga. Meet my beautiful wife, Olga. (See opening picture.) I haven’t been paying enough attention to Olga and the family ever since this blog has been consuming my free time. I make amends. Yes, I still walk the dog.

So, here she is. The beautiful Olga in the fall foliage of 2007.

See you tomorrow.
